Drive Duty

Junior and senior rowers who can drive and have access to a car, drive to practice. They park on K Street. When practice is over, they drive their maximum number of girls to school. There are usually more girls needing rides than there are spaces in athlete cars, so parents make up the difference by doing their drive duty.

If you are on drive duty, you arrive on 30th Street, south of K St at 7:00am. You wait until girls start walking from the boathouse after practice. You fill your car with rowers needing rides and drive them to school.

A parent volunteer coordinates Drive Duty with a sign-up genius. You choose a day and indicate the number of rowers you can transport.
